The European Postgraduate Solid Mechanics Conference (EPSMC), supported by EUROMECH, is a European conference organised by and for PhD students in solid mechanics. It will take place at CentraleSupélec, in Gif-sur-Yvette. The 2027 edition will be the first edition dedicated to solid mechanics, following conferences for young researchers in fluid mechanics that have been held since 2007.
The aim of this conference is to bring together young researchers, on the one hand, to share their work in advanced fields of solid mechanics and, on the other hand, to enable them to expand their networks.
The conference will be organised around four main themes: Experimental Mechanics, Computational Mechanics, Data-Driven Mechanics and Theoretical Mechanics. Each of these themes will be highlighted through scientific presentations within mini-symposia and keynote presentations by young researchers at the forefront of current research. In addition, a "Science and Society" lecture will be offered, focusing on sustainable development, as well as workshops covering more specific topics such as digital image correlation, reduced-order modelling, the Trefftz method, and mechanics-informed AI.
Organisers: Université Paris-Saclay, CentraleSupélec, ENS Paris-Saclay, CNRS, LMPS – Laboratoire de Mécanique Paris-Saclay, 91190 Gif-sur-Yvette, France.
