The host institution can apply for a EUROMECH grant of € 3000. The payment is made in two instalments: € 1500 is transferred first upon request of the organizers to the Treasurer. The remaining € 1500 is transferred once the organizers have sent their conference report and the list of participants to the President and Secretary General of EUROMECH and obtained their approval. It will be the responsibility of the LOC to cover the expense of a Conference by seeking subventions from local and national sources and by levying a registration fee on participants. It is a long-standing principle of EUROMECH that the costs should be kept low, and that the attendance of young scientists should be facilitated.

The registration fee of each participant must include a EUROMECH contribution (€ 30). This contribution is required by EUROMECH to organize the conference series. The EUROMECH contribution is to be included in the registration fee. In return, an optional membership (or extension thereof) is offered to each participant for free. The participant can accept or decline that offer, but the EUROMECH contribution is due in any case. The extension of a membership (for those who were already EUROMECH member) is valid for one single additional year following the completion of the running membership.

The EUROMECH contribution of € 30 multiplied by the number of participants is to be paid by the LOC Chairperson to the EUROMECH Treasurer within one month after the end of the conference.

Financial considerations should be kept in mind when the location of a future EUROMECH Conference is being considered. Experience with over 500 EUROMECH Colloquia has shown that modest accommodation and simple arrangements are not incompatible with enjoyment of both the scientific discussions and the après-conference.

Additioanl financial support may be sought from the European Science Foundation, via their research conference program.
