This conference brings together postgraduate students across Europe working in various fields of fluid dynamics, allowing them to show and discuss their work in an environment of their current and future peers. The students talks and posters are accompanied by overview talks of Prof. Bodenschatz (Turbulence), Prof. Dillmann (Aerodynamics), Prof. Sequeira (non-Newtonian fluid models) and Prof. Hollerbach (Astrophysical and Geophysical flows).
Highlights of the conference are lab tours through the MPI for Dynamics and Self-Organization and the DLR. Both institutes have several world-unique facilities in fluid dynamics, ranging from large scale-experiments (e.g. the highest Reynolds number wind tunnel or an aircraft) to classical experiments like pipe or Taylor-Couette flow and state-of-the-art microfluidics labs.
Science, and especially fluid dynamics, have a long-standing tradition in Gottingen (i.e. with Prandtl, von Karman, Schlichting,...) that will be highlighted in a guided city tour. The evenings may be spend in the beautiful pubs spread around the city center (ten minutes walk from the institutes!).

The deadline for abstract submission is 12 June 2011. The conference fee of 104,00€ includes accommodation, breakfast, catering and lunches, the conference dinner, and a one-year EUROMECH membership.
