The general scope of the colloquium is impact phenomena in mechanical systems, with an emphasis on unilateral geometric constraints.
Mechanical systems subject to nons-mooth contact laws still present many interesting scientific challenges in the Mechanical Engineering community, with more and more applications in other fields (computer graphics, haptic interfaces, control systems, granular materials, robotics, machine dynamics, etc) and in industry (aerospace, deep drilling, automotive systems, energy production, etc). The focus will be put on:
Mechanical systems subject to nons-mooth contact laws still present many interesting scientific challenges in the Mechanical Engineering community, with more and more applications in other fields (computer graphics, haptic interfaces, control systems, granular materials, robotics, machine dynamics, etc) and in industry (aerospace, deep drilling, automotive systems, energy production, etc). The focus will be put on:
- modeling (especially multiple impacts)
- numerical analysis (time-stepping and event-driven methods, iterative methods solvers for complementarity problems and generalizations)
- stability and control of non-smooth mechanical systems
- bifurcation analysis.
