The colloquium will focus on theoretical, experimental and applied topics on granular media, in particular ordered granular metamaterials, and will review recent developments on more general types of nonlinear acoustic metamaterials. The conference will bring together researchers from the applied mathematics, engineering and nonlinear physics communities. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Nonlinear dynamics of granular metamaterials, acoustic metamaterials and mechanical structures : solitary wave propagation, nonlinear localized modes and resonances, multistability...
  • Applications of nonlinear acoustic metamaterials to vibration and shock mitigation, acoustic filtering and lensing, energy redirection and harvesting,…
