This EUROMECH Colloquium aims to bring together experts working at the intersection of data-driven analysis and physics-based modeling of coherent structures in turbulent flows, particularly in the presence of multi-physics interactions. Coherent structures play a key role in shear-flow turbulence, but their prediction and control remain challenging—especially when multiple physical processes are coupled. The event will focus on hybrid approaches combining physical models with techniques such as machine learning and data assimilation. By fostering interdisciplinary exchange, the colloquium will offer a well-balanced program featuring both methodological advances and application-oriented talks in turbulence and flow control.
