This EUROMECH Colloquium focuses on the dynamics of drops and bubbles in turbulent flows, addressing key processes such as fragmentation, coalescence, and turbulence–interface interactions. These phenomena are vital in both natural systems and industrial applications, yet remain challenging to predict due to their multiscale nature. The event brings together experts in experiments, simulations, and modeling to discuss advances in high-resolution techniques, interface-resolved methods, and data-driven approaches. Key themes include surfactant effects, pairwise interactions, and benchmark development. The colloquium aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and define new standards for understanding and modeling turbulent multiphase flows.
